Our Story

Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) – previously known as Indus Health Network –  is a countrywide network of hospitals in Pakistan that seeks to provide quality healthcare absolutely free-of-cost to millions of deserving patients across the nation.

Indus Hospital & Health Network was founded by Dr. Abdul Bari Khan along with  a group of professionals, who sought to change the dismal condition of the government-run hospitals. While working in the public sector for many years, they witnessed the plight of the poverty-stricken patients struggling to get access to basic healthcare facilities.

It was at this time they envisioned the creation of a multi-disciplinary tertiary care hospital that would serve the under-privileged population of Pakistan with free and quality care.

After a few years, in 2005, the Islamic Mission Trust donated a non-functioning hospital building in Korangi, one of the most densely populated areas of Karachi which was renovated and made operational in 2007.

Starting with only one hospital in Karachi in 2007, IHHN is now managing multiple tertiary and secondary care Hospitals, Physical Rehabilitation Centers, Regional Blood Centers, Community Health Centers, primary care centers and various Public Health Programs spread across Pakistan.

Our Mission

IHHN’s vision is to create an excellence-driven, comprehensive, compassionate, free of charge, replicable healthcare system accessible to all.

Pakistan, like most developing countries, suffers from the lack of adequate healthcare. Around 50% of individuals in Pakistan do not have access to basic primary care services. And 42% fail to receive coverage. IHHN aims to bridge the gap between quality care and those unable to afford or access healthcare.

At IHHN, it is our responsibility to provide healthcare as a basic human right. We aim for excellence in quality of service, indiscrimination in health delivery methods, and we honor the dignity of our patients and employees. Through teamwork, integrity, loyalty and commitment to our cause, we believe we can change Pakistan’s healthcare system, and in turn people’s lives, for the better.
