Preparing for the Most Blessed Month of the Year

We are all ready to make the most of this blessed month and hope to inspire and benefit our staff, patients, and supporters.

This Ramadan, we are promoting the important fact that Health Comes First. Our lives continue to be altered as we enter into the second year of living amongst a COVID-19 global pandemic. The one thing that these challenging times have made us realize is that health should be our number one priority.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) once said:

“Take advantage of five before five. Your youth before your old age, your health before your sickness, your wealth before your poverty, your free time before your preoccupation, and your life before your death.”

(Narrated by Ibn Abbas, reported by Al-Hakim)

As we step into Ramadan we must ensure that this month of change will inspire us to transform for the better –  spiritually, mentally, and physically.

Spiritual Change: This blessed month focuses on submitting ourselves to God. We fast from food and desire, we pray more than before day and night, and we continuously ask God for forgiveness. This month is an opportunity for us to become more connected with our religion and spirituality. Take advantage by doing the most you can.

Mental Change: As we restrain ourselves from food from dawn till dusk, we also train ourselves to discipline. We keep our mind on the goal – to please God and become the best version of ourselves. And in the process, we learn how to self-discipline, how to be at peace with what we have, and to be grateful for all our blessings.

Physical Change: In Ramadan, people tend to focus on food. We get strong cravings during the day and we succumb to them at night, eating until morning. Yet Ramadan teaches us to be mindful with a purpose. As we fast from food for God, let us also fast from unhealthy habits. Let us remember that #healthcomesfirst and that we must take care of ourselves to live fulfilling lives.

We at Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) are also preparing for the month of opportunities by continuing our work of serving humanity. IIHHN is committed to changing people’s lives by providing life-changing treatment free of charge to over 400,000 individuals per month, across Pakistan through primary care units, mobile clinics, and tertiary hospitals.

But even after impacting thousands of lives, we have not reached our main goal yet: To Give Access to Healthcare Services to Everyone in Pakistan.

To achieve our goal we need your help. Being a free-of-cost health network, we rely on your donations to help us save millions more.

People in Pakistan need your help to spend a healthy Ramadan. This Ramadan, donate to IHHN and be rewarded beyond your imagination. Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

“Whoever saves a life, it will be as if they saved all of humanity

As you prepare yourself for Ramadan, keep in mind the thousands of lives that do not have the same opportunities as you.

This Ramadan let’s focus on #Healthfirst
