Tonight could be the Night of Power, Value, and
Destiny. But what is Laylatul Qadr?
Laylatul Qadr – the Night of Power- is the holiest night in Islam. On this night,
the first versus of the Quran were revelaed
to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

We don’t know for certain when exactly Laylatul Qadr is, but we
do know that it is during the last 10 nights of Ramadan.
Why is Laylatul Qadr Important?

Good deeds on this night
hold more power and weight than on any other night. It is the most blessed night of the Islamic year.

It is the night of decree.
On this night, everything, all our affairs and the affairs of the world, will be decreed and will come to pass in the coming year.

Du’a and seeking forgiveness
have the greatest power to change decree on this night. If you want/need something now is the time to ask Allah (SWT). (Now is also the best time to add a special prayer for those less fortunate).

Thousands of Angels,
as many as the amount of all the stones on earth, are sent down upon the worshippers.

It is the night the Quran was revealed
to the Prophet (PBUH). The Quran is the guide and light for all Muslims.

Du’a and seeking forgiveness
have the greatest power to change decree on this night. If you want/need something now is the time to ask Allah (SWT). (Now is also the best time to add a special prayer for those less fortunate).

On this night, Angel Jibreel is sent down to earth
to honor the Prophet’s (PBUH) nation, just as he was sent down to earth to honor the Prophet (PBUH).

What Should We Do During the Last 10 Nights?

Make lots of du’a. On Laylatul Qadr,
everything that will happen the following year is decreed. But du’a and seeking forgiveness can change that on this night. Make lots of du’a for yourself, your family and friends, and for those less fortunate.

Pray during the night.
The Prophet (PBUH) used to pray all night during this time, and keep his family up for prayers [Bukhari]

Spend in charity.
During this night, your good deeds will be multiplied so that they are worth the reward of a lifetime of good deeds. Giving charity and sadaqah is one of the best things to do. The Prophet (PBUH) said:
“Whoever removes a worldly hardship from a believer, Allah
will remove one of the hardships of Day of Resurrection from
him” [Sahih Muslim].

Giving charity is not only a form of worship, it is also a way to help remove hardship from others, which in turn has its own rewards.
