As Indus Hospital & Health Network’s Youth Training Program (YTP) returns for its third edition this summer, we are reflecting on the incredible journey of the trainees who participated in the previous cohorts. Over the past two years, the program has provided young people with a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and engage with the healthcare sector in meaningful ways.

Designed around the values of community spirit, philanthropy, and mutual growth, the YTP introduces participants to the inner workings of one of Pakistan’s largest philanthropic healthcare networks. It also offers expatriate children a chance to reconnect with their roots while building a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the country’s healthcare landscape.

What is the Youth Training Program?

The YTP is a seven-day immersive experience that brings together students from diverse backgrounds. Throughout the program, participants gain exposure to the various departments and functions that keep a healthcare organisation running, while also interacting with medical professionals, administrators, and leadership teams.

More than just an introduction to healthcare, the program encourages students to develop critical thinking, leadership skills, teamwork, and empathy qualities that are valuable regardless of the career path they choose.

Whether trainees are interested in medicine, public health, hospital administration, communications, or social impact, YTP provides an environment where curiosity is welcomed and aspirations are nurtured.

Highlights from Previous YTP Cohorts

Over the years, several sessions have emerged as clear favourites among trainees, offering them memorable experiences and valuable insights into healthcare and philanthropy.

Looking Ahead

As we prepare to welcome a new cohort this summer, the YTP continues to serve as a platform where young people can explore their interests, build meaningful connections, and develop a greater appreciation for the power of philanthropy and healthcare.

For many participants, YTP is more than a week-long program, it is the beginning of a journey shaped by learning, service, and a commitment to making a difference.

We look forward to inspiring the next generation of leaders, changemakers, and healthcare advocates through another exciting edition of the YTP.
