In the flood-affected village of Khan Garh Doma, where access to healthcare is scarce and uncertainty shadows every expectant mother, Zulekha Bibi’s story shines as a beacon of hope.
After six years of marriage, Zulekha was finally expecting — and not just one, but two precious babies. Her joy, however, was shadowed by fear. During the devastating floods, her husband, a daily wage laborer, had lost everything. The floods that had devastated her community had also made it nearly impossible for pregnant women to reach hospitals in time for delivery. As her labor pains began, her family feared the worst.
Help arrived in the form of Indus Hospital & Health Network’s Mobile Health Unit— essentially a clinic, laboratory, and pharmacy on wheels. The Mobile Health Unit is a lifeline for communities where permanent health facilities are still inaccessible, and is trained to manage emergencies in remote and resource-limited settings.
Zulekha was brought to the Mobile Health Unit in active labor, experiencing regular contractions. Under the careful supervision of IHHN’s skilled clinical team, she delivered twin babies safely — without any complications! Both newborns were vital and stable at birth.

Delivering twins in a mobile clinic is no small feat. It requires readiness, experience, and unwavering coordination. The team followed IHHN’s standardized obstetric protocols, ensuring infection prevention and emergency preparedness. Postnatal monitoring was upheld even in a field setting.
Today, Zulekha and her newborns are healthy and under postnatal care, their story marking another milestone in IHHN’s mission to deliver quality, free-of-cost healthcare — anywhere it’s needed.
“We are proud that our Mobile Health Unit team could provide safe, timely, and compassionate care to a family from a flood-affected community,” shared the clinical team. “This delivery highlights the importance of strengthening the outreach of maternal services in vulnerable areas.”
For mothers like Zulekha, the arrival of IHHN’s Mobile Health Unit is more than a medical service — it is hope on wheels, bringing life, safety, and dignity to those who might otherwise be forgotten.
Embark on a meaningful journey by getting involved in our mission to provide quality healthcare for all. Your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. Here’s how you can be a catalyst for change.
