With the launch of the student training program, IHHN Global’s young volunteers have already gained a comprehensive understanding of Indus Hospital & Health Network’s healthcare model, exploring the life-changing impact of its vast operations and diverse services.
Thanks to a training session on nursing, these future change-makers experienced hands-on training that introduced them to key practical skills, such as how to take vital signs, allowing them to develop life-saving capabilities.
Another training session involved a role-playing simulation exercise regarding an emergency infectious disease. The students took on the roles of various hospital staff members and worked in teams to handle this disaster. They learned to apply principles of crisis management, prioritization, and resource allocation in this hands-on scenario.
Students then spent time learning about pediatric psychology and how IHHN’s psychosocial department tackles the nuances of children in healthcare, such as how empathy plays a role in handling their sensitive situation. They then had the opportunity to interact with children who were battling cancer, and applied the same guidelines they had just learnt in order to connect with them.
These sessions allow them to be placed in real-world healthcare scenarios and patient cases, hence gaining valuable insights into the complexities of healthcare delivery and the importance of compassionate care.
Embark on a meaningful journey by getting involved in our mission to provide quality healthcare for all. Your involvement can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. Here’s how you can be a catalyst for change.
