Shahwaiz Yousuf, a 70-year-old resident of North Nazimabad, spent more than ten years living with chronic knee pain that gradually limited his mobility and independence. Everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs, and staying active became increasingly difficult. Over time, the pain prevented him from attending Friday prayers at the mosque and comfortably performing his daily routines at home.
In 2019, as his condition worsened, Shahwaiz sought medical care at Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN). After a thorough evaluation, doctors recommended knee surgery, explaining that delaying treatment would complicate his injury recovery and long-term mobility. Through Project GODA, Shahwaiz received the surgery free of cost, giving him a renewed chance at a pain-free life.
Following surgery, Shahwaiz began post-surgery physiotherapy for recovery, supported by a dedicated rehabilitation specialist from the GODA team. With a structured programme of physical therapy exercises, he worked on strength, balance, and joint mobility, allowing him to safely rebuild movement and confidence. The combination of surgery, pain management, and guided rehabilitation played a crucial role in his recovery.
Today, Shahwaiz is pain-free and focused on staying active through safe daily movement. He looks forward to resuming simple yet meaningful activities, including attending Friday prayers, something he had missed for years. Grateful for the care he received, Shahwaiz thanked IHHN, Project GODA, and the physical therapy team for helping him regain mobility, independence, and quality of life.
